Tsunami. Devils Triangle. 2010
Tsunami 2. Devils Triangle
Devils Triangle is the second painting of the Tsunami triptych, interpreting the unsettling action of a tsunami.
The meaning of the title for this piece is a reference to the tale of the Bermuda Triangle, also know as the Devils Triangle, a region in the North West Atlantic Ocean where ships and aircraft are said to have mysteriously disappeared under extraordinary circumstances. Although this painting is not set in the same region I felt it apt to use the term to describe the catastrophic action of this piece, the point in which the boats are dragged down into the deep by the whirling tides.
